Message	and that mandate came from Bush in January 2006, along with the massive corn ethanol subsidies. If he didn't have his protectionist bent, he would have demanded a reduction in the tariffs on Brazilian ethanol. Even with the tariff, Brazilian ethanol is competitive with corn. If you want to read the posted article, you might look at the fossil fuel efficiency of Brazil's (8:1) vs. the US's (1.3:1) ethanol supply. That wasn't my point, but it's another reason corn ethanol is not the way to go. Should I apologize for being better informed than you? For getting information outside the posted article and applying it here? I don't think so. You might have mistaken me for a mindless Bush-basher, but I am not. +2 to you for the correct spelling of naive. - John
